There is something so magical about welcoming a brand new baby into the world—those first moments, first snuggles, and the overwhelming realization that your heart just grew in ways you didn’t think were possible. This recent newborn session here in Northern Colorado was filled with love, laughter, and the sweetest little details that made it truly unforgettable.
“We did it, baby girl.”
When I asked mom what her very first thought was upon seeing her baby for the first time, her answer was everything:
“The first thing I thought when I saw my baby for the first time was how much of a miracle childbirth is and being so proud of myself for accomplishing my dream birth plan. I said to her, ‘we did it baby girl, and you are perfect!’”
Cue the tears—because honestly, could there be a more powerful or beautiful moment?
A Birth Story to Remember while welcoming the 2nd child
This little one made her entrance in the most incredible way—a peaceful and empowering water birth.
“Yes, I had a beautiful water birth and it was truly a life changing experience.”
Birth stories like these carry so much strength and emotion, and it’s such an honor to help families preserve the next chapter through newborn photography.
One of the sweetest parts of this session was seeing a growing family adjust so naturally to life with two little ones.
“The most unexpected part of having 2 babies now is how much our new addition seems to fit right in… it seems like she was meant to be here all along.”
There’s something so special about watching siblings step into their new roles and seeing love multiply right before your eyes.
The Details That Matter Most
Newborn sessions are all about capturing the tiny things you never want to forget—and for this mama, one detail stood out:
“The tiny dimple on her left cheek.”
Those little features change so quickly, which is why documenting them during these early days is so meaningful.
If you’ve ever wondered whether your heart can truly love another child just as much—the answer is yes, and then some.
“Now that I have 2 baby girls, my heart has doubled in size… my heart just continues to grow.”
Parenthood has a way of expanding love in ways that feel almost impossible until you experience it yourself.
Embracing the Newborn Days
Even in the middle of sleepless nights and constant feedings, this family is choosing to soak it all in:
“I am embracing the late nights and constant feedings and feeling blessed that she needs me… I am really leaning into the full newborn experience this time around.”
There is so much beauty in that perspective—because while the newborn phase can feel long in the moment, it truly is fleeting.
When asked what advice she’d give to expecting parents, her words were heartfelt and honest:
“Truly soak it all in. The newborn phase can seem never ending but it truly goes so fast… be more intentional with the ‘hard’ moments knowing they are so temporary—you will actually miss them.”
And that right there is exactly why newborn photography matters so much. These days pass in a blur, but your memories don’t have to.
